Welp...looks like Tom Cruise is gonna make me add another entity to boycott. It was announced earlier today that TC and his long-time producing partner Paula Wagner have been given a movie company to run. Wow...talk about a nice wedding gift. The company is United Artists, one of the oldest movie companies in tinseltown and currently under MGM's control.
Amazing how this news breaks the same week as a certain movie comes out on DVD. I also found it ironic how Cruise's ex-boss, Sumner Redstone, spoke to the press on Monday explaining (again) why he fired Tom Cruise. Even if Cruise is no longer affiliated with Paramount, his move which dropped that very same day certainly is...and as they say, there's no such thing as bad press.
Annnnyways, United Artists has been on life support for years...with the exception of the James Bond movies (of which most of the profits go to MGM), there have been very few profitable or well-known movies produced by UA. So chances are, I won't really feel the effects of my boycott! Tom Cruise doesn't even have enough faith in his own company since his contract stipulates that he can still make movies for other studios. LOL.
Whatever! I'm so sick of TC...hurry up and marry your damn captive so the world can go back to focusing on what's really important - ryan & reese, toothy tile, and having anna nicole's parental rights taken away.
